Course description

This course emphasizes the background study of the formation of the gospels and their sources. The important themes are discussed within the emphasis of person, teaching and work of Christ.

Course objectives

This course aims to help the student to know the background of the formation of the Gospels, their sources and the use of modern methods to understand the various life situations of the texts.

The knowledge of the important themes that are seen in all gospels helps a student to know the unity of synoptic gospels. The theological insight of the themes also helps him to understand the narrations of the events. It also helps them to use their perspectives in the Indian situation.

It helps the student to identify and appropriate the challenges and possibilities for Evangelical Biblical scholarship.
