Mission and the Ecumenical Movement

M.Th. Missiology · Source syllabus with original formative learning enrichment

Course description

The ecumenical movement that emerged from the beginning of the twentieth century is a movement given birth to and nourished by the missionary impulse of the church. The church's attempt to theologically formulate a comprehensive understanding of mission lies at the heart of this movement. This course aims to introduce and analyze the history, theory and practice of mission of the ecumenical church. The course will provide an analytical study of the history of ecumenical interactions on mission, and the various missiological themes and issues that evolved in the course of the interactions among the various ecclesiastical traditions in the ecumenical movement.
